Being taller has many advantages like you look attractive, you look more confident and you don’t have to wear heels. There are many genetic and non-genetic factors that can affect your height.
Studies have shown that people stop growing after reaching adulthood. So if you have not reached adulthood, then you can add extra meters to your height. There are many ways by which you can increase your height with proper diet and exercise-
1. Proper Nutrition
Well, balanced diet filled with nutrition is required for increasing blood circulation, increasing metabolism and to grow faster. Your diet should include vegetables, fruits, proteins, carbohydrates. Add vitamin D to your diet because it helps in bone development. Food like fish, egg, pork, tofu, dairy products is rich in vitamin. Calcium and zinc are also very important for bone development and growth; eat green vegetables, cheese, soybeans, and cereals.
Engage yourself in different physical exercises and playing sports. When you do more physical activities, you demand more nutrients which help to increase height. Hanging exercise is best to increase height. Hang from horizontal bar with stretched arms and stay in same position for few seconds and repeat this several times. You can do toes touching exercise, skipping rope and stretching.
Swimming is the best full body workout. It elongates your muscles if you start at early age. For more positive results do 2 hours of swimming 5 times a week.
4. Practice good posture
People may develop bad posture while sitting or standing and makes the spine bend. If your spine is straight you look taller. A good posture means your head aligns with your neck with straight spine.
5. Keep your immune system stronger
Healthy and strong immune system protect the body from different diseases and health ailments will not slow down your growth and development of body. Avoid fast foods and processed food instead include low-fat dairy products, whole grains, oranges, lemon, green vegetables and omega rich foods like fish, nuts, cod liver oil.
6. Drink plenty of water
Keep yourself hydrated always. Water improves digestion, removes toxins, increase growth hormone and improves your metabolism. Eat cucumber and watermelons. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
7. Keep away from factors which hamper growth
Drugs, steroids, alcohols, caffeine are the factors which affect the normal growth. Drugs inhibit bone development by closing growth plates. Sleep for at least 8-11 hours for proper growth and development.
