No matter how old are you, you can always increase your intelligence and get smarter by training. Here are some ways to increase your IQ and for improving your brain functioning-

1. Explore your creativity 
Everyone possesses some form of creativity. Thinking of new and creative ways in which to do something old or try something new. By exploring your creative side, you are simultaneously improving your intelligence. Find exciting ways to challenge your intelligence.

2. Brain Games and puzzles 
Take out some time to play challenging brain games or puzzles. This requires thinking and concentration and will help you focus. Even Sudoku and crosswords can really pick your brain, making it sharper.

3. Take time to clear your mind 
With all the stress in life these days, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. This can leave you feeling fuzzy and unable to think straight. Take some time to relax and analysis your circumstances and often time you will realize some things just aren’t worth worrying about.

4. Maintain high level of mental activities
Instead of immediately using calculator or searching online, try using the good old methods such as solving the problems with mathematics, or looking up for information in a dictionary or in the encyclopedia.

5. Reading 
Reading is a great way to trigger your imagination. Reading something that presents a challenge to you and you can think that this can improve your intelligence. Reading will stimulate new thought, you will learn new vocabulary.

6. Get quality sleep 
The brain does lots of work while you sleep and much of it involve consolidating the learning that took place the whole day. Sleep allow for timing for the body to perform cell regeneration and detox itself of accumulated toxins. 6-8 hours sleep is a must.

7. Eat healthy 
Our body consumes 20% of all nutrients and oxygen we consume. Vegetables like broccoli, spinach, tomato and omega 3 rich foods help to improve memory and brain function.
